26 June 1971 Dear Phyllis, Two letters to answer from you. I have already sent a lot of info or rather all that I had to Roberta Zachary and she has answered with a couple of follow ups. I am sorry to say that I can not place her Lewis David Pipkin Sr but I bet we will find that he is a part of that large Lewis Pipkin family of Smith County Tenn. I gave her a few more hints and she will run them down. Congratulations on getting your book to the publishers. I know that you have a real sense of satisfaction in gettin this done. I had thought of doing one on the Phillip Pipkin line, but I don't even have time to think much less to do a lot or researching that is needed to follow up all that I had started on our lines. Maybe that will be my project when I get out of the Editor's job the next time I go overseas. WHICH I DO NOT KNOW WHEN, at the present time. Speaking of books, Compere has visited Lucie and left with her copy of "His Books" on the Pipkin family. All the way back to Minor of early 1500s in England, through his son JOHN I in Nanesmond County Virginia in 1735, and his son JESSE who was the father of JOHN II of the will of 1745 in Chowan County, NC. You should feel honored as it is dedicated to a number of people including YOU. I can't say that I agree with his lineage of JOHN II as he calls it. I am sending you the check of Frankie E. Roark for her dues. I mentioned this last month but just failed to send it to you. Thanks for the Treasurer's report. We have accummulated a bit it seems. I have asked Lucie to send me the microfilm numbers to order the 1880 Soundex of those States we do not already have in the Newsletter. Maybe this will solve a few of our problems. This should come to about 60-60 dollars when we get them all. I will not order them all at once. I will send the back issues to Lillian Head, and then I plan on using her data in the very near future. ALSO WOULD LIKE AN UPDATE ON THE CHILDREN OF MARIE LAFENTIE PIPKIN, as I can put mine and your lines out in the same issue, wouldn't that give them a better picture of who we are ? (the usual children, grandchildren, and grandchildren, etc as far as you have on Marie Lafenti's brook.) This is a real busy time, getting the old officers on the way home and the new ones in, houses for them and their families and all the other things we must do prior to starting the English Language Course which is next Monday. My girls are both in Okla State Univ this summer. So Joanna and I are just having a great time. Love, Philip
