Pipkin, Dora Pipkin or Oscar Pipkin, is this inscription: "REMEMBERR ME WHEN THIS YOU SEE, THO THE GRAVE BE MY BED, REMEMBER ME WHEN I AM DEAD." The Bible is about 4 x 6 and has a very modest covering of some type of army cloth. It is copyrighted 1884. The Pipkin family lived near Piedmont, Missouri (Wayne County). My grandmother, Dora Pipkin married Reuben Linsley. Could S.A. Payton have been S.A. Pipkin ? I have used my imagination plus my early childhood memories of my grandmother's stories about her early life. She talked of "hoeing cotton" "riding sidesaddle" "Pat-a-murf" "Will" "Nancy Jane" "John" "Sally Ann" "Charlie" and "Oscar." Since my family on both sides is small, I would love to know more about any or all of them so that I can pass our family history on to our children, David and Susan Blackmon. Mrs. Ken Blackmon (June Elizabeth Linsley)
