Tuesday, September 20, 1994 (Temple Texas) Elsie Pipkin Funeral services for Elsie "Hankey" Pipkin, 74, of Temple will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple with the Rev. Arthur Michalka officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. Mrs. Pipkin died Monday at a Temple hospital. She was born on June 19, 1920 in Houston. She was a registered nurse and had served in the Army Nursing Corp from 1942 to 1946. She married Marshall W. Pipkin Sr., on Jan. 4, 1946, in Austin and moved to Temple that year. Mrs. Pipkin was employed at Olin E. Teague Veteran's Hospital in Temple for 22 years before retiring in 1977. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple. Survivors include her husband, Marshall W. Pipkin Sr. of Temple; one son, Marshall Pipkin Jr. of El Paso; one daughter, Theresa B. Ferrell of Killeen; two brothers, James L. Hankey of Shaw Island, Texas, and Michael Hankey of Elgin; and one sister, Alice H. Miller of Austin. The family will receive friends between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. A rosary with the Rev. Harry Bilski officiating will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
