El Paso, TX - October 1983 Leon Alton Wyatt - Graveside Services were conducted in El Paso at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday October 12 for Leon Alton Wyatt, 69, with Chaplain (Capt) Philip Chapman officiating. Burial was in Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Kaster Maxon and Futrell Funeral Home. He was pronounced dead at William Beaumont Hospital Friday October 7, following a lenghty illness. He was born October 25, 1913 at Robertson County, TX and came to Sudan with his parents, Joseph Z. and Chessie Pipkin Wyatt in November 1930 from Vernon. He enlisted in the Army May 1933 at Ft. Bliss and served throughout WWII. He married Evelyn Virginia Dillow July 5, 1934 in Albuquerque, NM. She died August 21, 1982 and was buried in Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. He was a retired Sears employee, a Methodist and a member of VFW. Survivors include three sons, Darrell Leon of El Paso, Lanny Alton of Redding, CA and James Wayne of Anaheim, CA; Karen Evelyn Pearson of Clovis, CA and Linda Bayle Chaves of Anaheim, CA; a brother, George Wayne of Chapparrel, NM; a sister, Arlene Greathouse of Sudan and thirteen grandchildren.
