Henry Hill Deed to Steward Pipkin, 19 Dec 1764


Northampton County, NC Record of Deeds, No 3, 1759-66

To all people to whome these presents shall come greting, Know ye that Henry Hill of Hertford County in the province of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of 60 pounds current money of Virginia to me in hand paid by Steward Pipkin of the county & province aforesaid, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge my self fully satisfied & contented & thereof & of every part & parcell thereof do exonerate acquit & discharge the sd Steward Pipkin his heirs Extrs, Admr forever by these presents have given grantee bargained sold alined conveyed & confirmed & by these presents doth fully freely & absolutely give grant bargained sell alien convey & confirm unto him the sd Steward Pipkin his heirs & assigns forever a track or parcell & on the South side of Meherin River butted & bounded as follows (viz).

Beginning at a pine in Robert Edwards line thence along aline of marked trees to a maple in little Creek at the mouth of a branch known by the name of Pasture Branch thence up the sd branch to a pine thence along aline of marked trees to a pine in Edwards line thence along the sd line to a pine his corner thence along aline of marked trees to the center of two red oaks & a pine thence along aline of marked trees to the first station which binds the sd land containing by estimation three hundred & fifty acres be the same more or less the sd land being part of a patent formerly granted to Timothy Hins bearing date March 7 day 1719 & transferred to Robert Edwards & from thence to Thos Ward & from thence to Collo Benjamin Hill & thence to the sd Henry Hill all the appertinances priviledges & commodities thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the sd Steward Pipkin his hiers & assigns forever to his own & their proper use benefit & behalf forever & I the sd Henry Hill for me...Witness where of I have here unto set my hand and fixed my seal this 19th Day of December, Anno Domini 1764.

This June 6th 1765 indenture of Bargain & Sale from Henry Hill to Steward Pipkin was proved by the oath of James Denton a witness thereto & ordered to be registered.
